Come Creare Una Tenda Divertente Con I Vecchi Cd-rom

Quanti cd-rom che non utilizzi più hai in casa? Immagino tantissimi. E non parlo solo dei cd di musica di quando avevi 12 anni. Parlo anche di tutti i cd che sicuramente hai trovato in omaggio con le riviste e che non hai mai aperto oppure di qualche regalo sgradito. Buttarli via? No! Con questa guida imparerai come costruire una tenda per dividere gli ambienti veramente unica!

Occorrente

• Cd-rom che non utilizi più
• Carta (di giornale, da pacchi, di riviste...)
• In alternativa alla carta tessuti di vario tipo
• Lenza da pesca oppure spago o un filo robusto
• Colla vinilica
• Taglierino
• Trapano - chiodi
• Pezzo di legno

• 1   Prendi uno dei vecchi cd-rom. Mettilo su un foglio di carta (o su un pezzo di tessuto). Aiutandoti con un taglierino taglia la sagoma del cd sul foglio. Cerca di essere il più preciso possibile. Taglia, sempre aiutandoti col taglierino, anche la parte interna del cd. Metti un pò di colla vinilica sulla parte del cd esterna, quella cioè su cui solitamente trovi scritte e fotografie. Incolla quindi la carta su quella parte del cd. Fai la stessa cosa con tutti gli altri cd e lascia asciugare.
• 2    Prendi il pezzo di legno della lunghezza da te decisa. Incolla con la colla vinilica dei fili di lenza o spago o altro tipo di filo robusto sul pezzo di legno considerando una distanza di circa dieci centimetri l'uno dall'altro. Per la lunghezza dei fili devi ovviamente considerare il posto in cui andrai a mettere la tenda. Ti consiglio di misurare prima l'altezza del muro a cui la appenderai. Ad ogni filo di lenza incolla poi i cd-rom che hai decorato. Cerca di mettere quanti più cd possibili in modo che la tua tenda risulti più colorata e ricca possibile.

 

• 3    Una volta asciugata la colla la tenda è pronta. Adesso non ti resta che utilizzare il trapano per appendere la tenda direttamente al muro. Se non vuoi usare il trapano puoi utilizzare le colle specifiche per questo tipo di lavori che sono comprabili direttamente ai supermercati o dal ferramenta. Fai attenzione a non fare bruschi movimenti attorno alla tenda perchè per quanto la colla vinilica la renda resistente di certo non è indistruttibile.

Io le toccai..

I canti popolari spesso lasciano traspirare storie di  vita quotidiana, di battaglie, di situazioni molto sentite dalla gente comune. Si possono cantare per festeggiare, per rincuorarsi in situazioni anche tragiche.. e questo?!  Questo è un canto proveniente a quanto pare dalle Marche, ma comunque radicato un po in tutta la penisola  italica. Non canta di guerre nè di eroi.. ma di 2 innamorati e delle loro.. " avventure?"

Predict weather with a cup of coffee.. Try it yourself!!! :D

Make a cup of coffee. You can add cream and sugar since it makes the bubbles easier to see but black coffee is fine. Hot tea or hot cocoa will work too.

Step 1 (the only step.. ): Watch the bubble.

 

When you pour the coffee into your cup, watch the bubbles.
If the bubbles move to the edge of the cup rather quickly, that's a good sign. Expect clear skies for the next 12 hours.
If the bubbles hang around in the center of the cup, get out your rain gear. You can expect rain in 12 hours.

If the bubbles slowly move to the edge of the cup, you may get a bit of weather, but it should be clearing in a few hours.

If you've managed to make a cup without bubbles, flop a spoonful of coffee back into your cup and make some more bubbles.

DIY : tutorial for fabric covered cd coaster

After a small spring clean it seems we have a teetering pile of out-dated CD's hanging around. It probably stems from our reluctance to toss previously useful belongings away. Does this happen at your house?

You probably have fabric scraps too, huh? Well Sew, Mama, Sew has dubbed October as Scrap Buster Month. If you're looking for ways to empty out your scrap basket, then it's well worth a visit. Today's tutorial is my eco-friendly way of trying to win some shiny new fabric from their wonderful store.

Ingredients (for one coaster):

2 x fabric scraps at least 14 cm square.

enough scraps to make up 55cm of bias binding

1 x unwanted CD

Before you start:

You will need to use a fairly sturdy fabric, as the CD will show through lighter fabrics. I've used denim from an old pair of jeans. Alternatively you could line loosely woven fabrics with plain fabric or interfacing scraps.

Also it is important that when attaching the binding it is close to the CD. Otherwise the CD will slide around and the coaster will be a bit floppy. If necessary, trim the seam allowance down to allow the binding to be up against the enclosed CD.

Step 1:

Lay fabric scraps together with wrong sides together. Cut out a 14 cm diameter circle. To do this I drew around my CD then added a 1 cm seam allowance.

Bias binding:

Cut diagonal strips of fabric 4 cm wide. Join to form at least 55 cm of bias binding. Press binding flat with seams open. Trim off any over hanging corners. Fold strip in half along length and press, to make it 2 cm wide. Open binding out flat again. Fold one long side of strip to center crease and press. Repeat for other side. Fold two sides together along center crease again and press. The binding strip should now be 1 cm wide.

I forgot to photograph making the bias binding. Sorry. If you need more visual instructions then a quick search should help you out.

Step 2:

Place the CD between the two circles, right sides facing out. Pin the two fabric layers together around the CD, enclosing it in the center. Using your sewing machine's zipper foot, baste the circles together around the CD. Make sure the CD is tightly enclosed by stitching as close to the CD as possible.

Step 3:

Pin and then sew binding over the raw edges of the circles. Stitch close to the edge of the binding, which should also be close to the CD. Trim off excess binding, leaving a small overlap and sewing the binding end down over the binding start. Done!

Now you can pour yourself a beverage of your choosing and admire your handiwork!
